Second Annual Ozarks Regional Air Guitar Championships Coming Soon!

Moxie Cinema and The Landers Theatre join forces once again to bring Springfield the second annual Ozarks Regional Air Guitar Championships, to be held on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 9:00 pm at The Outland Ballroom. Tickets are $10, ages 18 and over. Sponsored by Q102, GO Magazine, Springfield Music, The Copy Shoppe, and Czar Graphics. It's the coolest thing to happen to Springfield since Brad Pitt ate Cashew Chicken at Bass Pro!

Doors open at 8:00 pm for registration, but contestants can sign up early at Moxie Cinema for a $5 discount. Contestants need to have a 60-second clip of guitar-heavy music, ready on CD. And a helpful hint: Costumes tend to help boost a contestant's score! For more details on becoming a contestant, please visit www.OzarksAirGuitar.com.

The winner will be chosen based on the following criteria: Technical Merit, Stage Presence, and "Airness". The declared champion will be the recipient of fabulous prizes such as a "real" guitar provided by Springfield Music, plus cash prizes and a chance to go to the next level in the US Air Guitar Championship competition. Last year's winner, "Slick Whiskers", came in 3rd place at the Dallas Regionals!

Air Guitaring, according to the US Air Guitar Association, is America's unofficial pastime, where it's taken out of the bedroom (or Mom's basement) and put it up on the world's stage. With championships all over the nation, and a World Championship in Finland, The Moxie and Landers are excited to bring this growing event to the Midwest. For more information on Air Guitaring, visit www.usairguitar.com.

Seussical Cast List

SEUSSICAL Cast List

WOW! Thank you so very much to everyone who auditioned for Seussical The Musical. We saw 235 of you, and the display of talent and enthusiasm was both overwhelming and humbling. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making our decisions so very difficult and for a wonderful three nights of auditions.

If you were not cast, please come back for next season’s auditions. Many of you would be perfect for shows in its exciting line-up. Also, stay tuned for the announcement of an Education Series that will offer three more opportunities during the year for youth and adults to perform. Please know there are a lot of factors that go into casting—chemistry, height, weight, hair color, facial structure, vocal demands, available rehearsal and performance space!, etc. TALENT was certainly a-plenty!

Again, thank you.

Sincerely,

Lorianne Dunn and Aaron Smith
